It's that time of the year again, and we are ready to share some of our favorite PA making gift ideas. Happy (local) shopping!

Dance Happy Designs (Aston, Pennsylvania) is a screen printing studio that produces original hand-cut patterns, limited printing and sewing. One of the three co-founders is a speechless woman with Down syndrome-she helped design bright graphic patterns and then applied them to handbags, trash cans, flower pots and pouches.

Sweet Scents Soap Company (King of Prussia, Pennsylvania) is a family business that uses essential oils and mild ingredients to produce soaps, lotions, balsams, scrubs and butters. This winter, everyone can use a bit of pampering or pop colors—their soaps are in stunning, pleasant tones.

Frank's Fine Swine and Beef (Bridgeport, Pennsylvania) specializes in artisanal jerky made with organic marinades without preservatives. Not everyone likes holiday candies, so fortunately, this veteran-owned and operated company offers a series of gift baskets and stockings filled with samples of their strong-flavored beef and chicken jerky. We are particularly interested in the "Garlic Fever" and "Jamaica Bastard" varieties.

Kitchen Garden Textiles (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) wants to green your kitchen by eliminating the need for single-use plastics. The company's product bags, "paperless" towels, napkins, and reusable coffee filters are handmade in Pennsylvania and are made from organic linens. 40% of their total profit from agricultural produce bags is shared by non-profit urban agricultural organizations.

Taylor Chip (Lancaster, Pennsylvania) bake thick, soft, gooey biscuits and ship them across the country. The company was founded by a young couple and offers everything from classic chocolate chips to salted caramel pretzels, espresso beans and s'mores (stuffed with marshmallows). They also sell personalized biscuit cakes.

Stargazer Cast Iron (Allentown, Pennsylvania) was founded in 2015 by professional kitchen designer Peter Huntley. He went through 21 design iterations and several prototypes before completing the final design of his iconic frying pan and saucepan. Every step of the production process is completed in the Rust Belt-casting in Wisconsin, machining in Ohio, finishing and seasoning in Pennsylvania. (You can actually order a seasoned or unseasoned pan, if you prefer to do it yourself.) The handle is designed to keep it cool to the touch, while the cookware is durable.

Flux Bene (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is the brainchild of textile artist Rebekah Joy. She upgraded old clothes into fashionable, organically dyed, and creatively rethinked clothing. (See main picture.) We especially like these "sketchbook jackets". The company is very committed to their mission, and they even provide pdf sewing patterns to help customers upgrade their own items.

Tiny Galaxies (Kingston, Pennsylvania) wants to add a bit of brilliance to your holiday. The company’s resin jewelry is made using a proprietary process that combines glitter and gold leaf to create an eye-catching final product. We are paying attention to these elegant pendant earrings with the visual texture of gold leaf, as well as the company's colorful "ring cones", which are very suitable for overnight storage of high-end jewelry.

Duross and Langel has a store in downtown Philadelphia, where they sell a variety of exquisite personal care products, from soaps to bath bombs to candles, masks and baby products. (They also ship) The company has an ecological spirit, uses natural ingredients and environmentally friendly packaging. We especially like the "Soap and Suds" box. The bar inside is inspired by the taste of beer, including hops, citrus peels and roasted stout.

Hanna Dausch (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) uses wood to create stunning home design elements. As the granddaughter of a master carpenter, Dausch's vases, lamps, mirrors and candle holders will surely amaze the decoration fans in your life. We add this maple breadboard to our wish list as we enter.

Still looking for the right gift? A bag of freshly roasted coffee beans from your neighborhood, a bottle of Pennsylvania wine or six bags of seasonal beer from your favorite PA brewery will always be greeted with a smile. You can also view your thoughts from the past few years here and here.
