Boo! Did we scare you? Our editors have been prepping for Halloween over the last few weeks alongside 78 percent other Americans who said in January during data and tech market Numerator’s 2022 Holiday Preview study that they were already planning and preparing to celebrate the holiday. Now that our editors have had some time to try out several spooky season giftables, edibles and more, they are ready to share their best finds with you. From seasonal wine to monstrous mugs and creepy chic cards, here’s a few tried and true frightening finds for your haunted Halloween displays.

Tag’s Mummy Coffee Mug and Witch’s Broom Tea Towel

I love Halloween! By Oct. 1, I have my whole house decked out in skeletons, tombstones, spiderwebs and other macabre décor. I also like to celebrate the holiday by wearing spooky seasonal earrings throughout the month, watching scary movies each night and drinking coffee out of Halloween-themed mugs in the mornings. My newest spirited addition this year? A coffee mug by Tag that looks like a mummy! It’s so cute and puts me in the Halloween spirit, plus it’s dishwasher safe. I especially love the handle, which gives my fingers plenty of room to hold the cup easily. There was actually a whole table of Halloween goods at a local gift shop where I found my little coffee buddy, so I picked up a witch’s broom tea towel, too. I plan to mail it to my Halloween-loving friend, especially because I love how it comes rolled up with a yarn bow and gift tag. Is it Halloween yet???

Shannon Martin Design’s Drive A Stick Holiday Card.

Combining vintage photos of family and friends with jokes, puns and plenty of wise observations, artist Shannon Martin’s name and style have been recognizable in the stationery and gift world for many years. For her latest Halloween releases, Martin stuck to her classic combo to bring a cheeky witchy design to an FSC-certified 100 percent recycled paper card that pairs with a white envelope adorned with scattered copper stars. Made in Seattle, Martin’s hometown, the inside of the card reads “You’re so awesome, it’s spooky. Witching you a Happy Halloween!” Other Halloween cards from Shannon Martin Design reference gourd puns, haunted houses and vintage Halloween costumes, giving any customer looking to spread seasonal frights across the miles plenty of options.

Windsor Vineyards’ Horror Movie ‘Take a Sip When’ Game 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon

What’s a better than celebrating Halloween with spirits? Celebrating spirits with spirits! To ring in Halloween this year, the Vintners at Sonoma, Calif.’s Windsor Vineyards created six Halloween-themed wine labels to inspire the year’s festivities through things like horror movie bingo games and QR-linked pumpkin carving design templates and Spotify playlists. I tried out the Windsor Vineyards’ Horror Movie ‘Take a Sip When’ Game 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon while watching John Carpenter’s 1978 movie “Halloween” with friends and paired the wine and horror movie bingo with some hearty burgers we grilled per the vineyard’s suggestion. The food pairing brought out smooth chocolaty undertones in the wine and everyone enjoyed watching the horror classic with a new goal. With a game included on the bottle and pairings listed online, Windsor Vineyards made putting together a quick and festive Halloween get-together simple for everyone involved.
