Former UFC flyweight champion Nico Montano said that she never agreed to appear naked in a documentary that "exposed" her body.

"I never said that I could be exposed in a movie," Montano said on the "Warrior and Writer" podcast when discussing the movie called "Warrior Spirit."

"When I asked them if they would take it down, they just said,'I don't know what you are talking about, this is a good movie, and everyone likes its influence.'-I thought,'Well, you Deflection."

Montano said she has not watched the documentary, but did confirm that she has signed to star in the film.

"They were like,'Well, you signed it, it's part of the movie, it makes it more influential,' but it's also my price," Montano said. "They show or show how they describe UFC and they are doing the same thing to me, they are still very hypocritical, knowing that I am not getting paid or any royalties at all."

Montano added: "I still don't want anyone to see it because I didn't get any royalties, nor did I get any rebates from this documentary. I like everything."

Director Landon Dyksterhouse talked about this situation in Miesha Tate's "Fall Over" podcast, and defended it with footage from the movie.

"In the beginning, Nico had everything. She had a belt, she had health, and she was in her best condition. That's why so many people in the Native American community admired her," Dijkstra House fights at MMA Said in. "At the end of the movie, the arc of the story is that she has nothing. She has been streamlined, including her weight, including her body, including everything she obtained in the UFC.

"So it's definitely part of the narrative arc there. In all the festivals we attended, no programmer mentioned anything of any kind, that is, it was [exploitative] in nature, pornographic in nature, and it was Any of these things..."

"Warrior Spirit" recorded the ups and downs of Montano's MMA career, from winning the first UFC Women's Flyweight Championship to her release from the organization in August, when she lost weight due to a scheduled battle with Wu Yanan. This marks the third time Montano has lost weight.

"But in fact, this documentary talks about the exploitation of Native Americans and the entire genocide with the government, and how UFC fighters were exploited by the UFC. I think they say all this is very hypocritical, because I must be exploited here. ," Montano said.

According to MMA Fighting, this documentary shows the moment Montano stood naked on the scale after falling off the towel. This scene records her terrible weight loss before the 2018 defending battle with Valentina Shevchenko. After Montano was hospitalized for weight loss, the match was cancelled and she was subsequently deprived of the UFC Women's Flyweight Championship.

Elsewhere in the podcast interview, Montano, 32, said that she is still training and hopes to fight again.

The last time she participated in UFC Fight Night 155 was in 2019. She was defeated by Juliana Pena before losing weight in a match with Yanan and being released by the UFC in August.
