The Spider-Man in Marvel's Avengers is so ordinary, it makes people distressed

Webhead is not enough to save Marvel's Avengers, but part of me hopes he is.

Seeing the long-awaited unveiling of Marvel's Avengers Spider-Man this week, I kicked myself for my hope. Crystal Dynamics was adversely affected in its live service superhero adventure and failed to attract audiences, and Square Enix was happy to throw the studio under the bus, marking it as unsuitable for games. So why did you assign Crystal to it in the first place?

All this is a bit strange, but one of the potential salvation graces is the arrival of Spider-Man, but as our own Stacey Henry has already said, he wants to save this day too late. Black Panther is considered to have a similar level of reverence, and many people believe that his expansion will mark a new beginning for Marvel’s Avengers. Part of the game is so compelling everything.

Facts have proved that after the story closed, the Panthers were included in the main lineup, as boring as daily work, and turned into beating robots in exchange for boring resources and even more boring cosmetics. Unless you are a hardcore superhero fan willing to endure the monotony, there is almost nothing here to put you in. So the player left, satisfied with the expansion, but fully aware that this real-time service was not enough. Who can blame them? They are right.

Spider-Man didn't even get extended processing, but was thrown into hero activities later this month, performing some tasks and introducing his role to a wider range of staff. He is unique to PlayStation, which further weakens his appeal because Sony is obsessed with bringing webhead close to the company's chest. Fair enough, but this exclusivity will only reduce the already slim chance of a comeback for Marvel's Avengers—especially because Xbox's game pass seems to be the best choice. His arrival will come and go, and will receive some hype before it fades away.

I don't think this inevitable fate is the fault of Crystal Dynamics-the execution of Marvel's Avengers has been flawed from the beginning. Once exposed, the entire actor was demonized into an MCU-like Primark interpretation. Worthy performances and the introduction of unique characters like Kamala Khan hardly helped alleviate these comparisons. Her vocal performance is also not very popular, which does not help players like the campaign. Critics have a relatively positive attitude towards the basic game, but once the endgame occurs, things immediately get worse. There is no other way but to jump into repetitive tasks and beat up robots until you have enough money to buy things that are not worth busying anyway. It's not fun, and a cunning content pipeline will only make things worse.

Spider-Man can't fix something that is fundamentally flawed, especially when his own personality pales in comparison to all the other examples we have seen in recent years. Yuri Lowenthal and Tom Holland are great interpretations of wall climbers, and this person's harsh voice and strange childish character make him feel that he is a hero who does not belong to him. In any case, the performance is good, but like most actors, those who are deeply rooted in pop culture will compare whether they like it or not. It is impossible to do other things.

Revealing the trailer may be an exaggerated display of his abilities, peeking at how his backstory will weave into this version of the superhero universe. Instead, he was fighting a group of ordinary thugs in the parking lot, when all the Avengers appeared inexplicably to lend a hand, because they obviously had nothing to do. It just feels universal in most ways of the game, failing to take advantage of the efforts of Insomniac or the personality that makes the MCU so attractive.

Comics are stories about cracking wisdom and emotional resonance, discussing in depth the struggle to save the world, while staying close to your loved ones. Marvel's Avengers forget all this and force these characters into a model that they don't fit, so every mistake will be highlighted as an obvious problem that will constantly push people away. I hope this is not the case, but this game will continue to dig a grave so deep that it will eventually hit the bedrock. Once you reach that path of no return, you will either play for free or give up forever. Square Enix Si has already classified this project as a financial failure, so cynical I think the introduction of Spider-Man is to solve the existing contract agreement, not to make a meaningful addition to the game.

This is a means to an end and will inevitably get nothing. People are not talking about Marvel's Avengers, and whenever they are, they have a tone of deliberate mockery or hesitant sympathy. Crystal Dynamics is trying to piece together the remaining parts of a doomed project, and the addition of new projects will do little to ease the trajectory of doomed failure. Part of me is praying that it can turn things around, but my realist is waiting for the sand in the hourglass to run out forever, so that the studio can start making what it is passionate about-even a Tomb Raider with dinosaurs?

I like Spider-Man, but having so many versions of the character in such a short period of time means that a person will eventually become shorter, and this character always has no cosmic or narrative creativity to support his existence. Marvel's Avengers Except for some wonderful moments, it is not so noticeable. This is a chore, showing how serious mistakes can occur in real-time service games when you unpredictably consider how to support and receive them over many years. Maybe I was wrong, he would kick it out of the park, but all signs point to the opposite.
