Coastal elegance shines in this waterfront Longboat Key apartment, with custom pieces such as warm walnut countertops, mirrored and paneled white walls, built-in glass shelves, gradient fan tiles and coral-style hanging lamps. "Usually, people will tear off old, outdated features in renovations, but I'm really happy that we have given new life to features such as mirror walls, because it reflects water and light coming in from the beach very well. ," said Kelly Caesar, owner and chief designer of Orange Moon Interiors.

For this complete interior decoration project, the homeowner hired Kaiser to bring a very specific "creative and fun" vision to life. In today's world full of simple, neutral design spaces, this client wants color. "She didn't let trends define what her home should look like, but let her own happiness guide her design decisions," Caesar said. "She feels happy in the colors. She wants this space to be her happy place." Kaiser pointed out that the seascape palette really brings home for this bayside residence, and the accessories say "you are on the beach", but "There is a sense of texture, not kitsch." As a color expert in her field, it is important to choose the absolutely perfect hue for the color-loving customers-more importantly, to find the right blue hue for those who live by the sea.

To create a unique blue hue for this particular client, the deep slate grass cloth wallpaper wraps the master suite bedroom with a texture that mimics waves, while the aqua blue and turquoise mosaic backsplash tiles in the bathroom hint at fish or mermaid’s Scales. "The irony is that at the beginning of the design process, the client really wanted to avoid water," Kaiser shared. "But as the design evolved, we all found that when water mixed into the space, she really liked it. This blend of blues brings a sense of richness and makes this home so comfortable, embracing you like a warm beach towel."
