‘Separates, intimates, and ready-to-wear’ make up SIR, quite literally — that’s what the Sydney-based label’s initials refer to. Founded in 2014 by a pair of friends, the ever-evolving brand has just released its Pre-Fall 2022 collection, which they describe as “indicative of SIR’s evolution into a new hemisphere”.

Titled “A Future Past”, the collection reflects on the coexistence of natural and man-made objects and the harmony that can form between. A sophisticated, muted palette of brown, sage and tan reflects the natural; while the man-made is evoked through stark black, white and red. Classic plaid and geometric prints harmoniously meet new season florals; and signature silhouettes and fabrics are elevated by new textures and techniques. There’s all the cut-outs and slinky bikinis you know; but some surprising new styles you’ll love too. You can shop it here.

Meanwhile, SIR. also recently announced a collaboration with model Jordan Barrett, creating a genderless wardrobe offering. Barrett’s personal style merges with classic SIR. minimalism for a considered capsule crafted with luxe fabrics in tonal hues and oversized silhouettes. Each piece is designed with longevity in mind — both in terms of quality and style — so they can be purchased and treasured forever. Shop the capsule here.

Fittingly shot on location amongst endless fields of sunflowers in the Scenic Rim mountain ranges of Queensland, the brand’s home state, DISSH’s Summer ’22 collection celebrates low-key luxury.

‘SUNMOTION‘ offers fresh new designs that feel modern yet timeless — thoughtfully designed to live in wardrobes for many seasons to come. There are elevated slips, cosy knits equally suited to a night in or a day out, and statement-making-yet-wearable patterned sets.

“This season’s collection is underpinned by 70s femininity,” said DISSH Founder and Director Lucy Henry-Hicks. “Building on our connection with the beautiful Australian landscape, the colour palette is inspired by earthy rich tones.”

The cheerful runway parade featured Australian models and friends of the brand including Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Samantha Harris, and Shimma Marie.

Inviting you to a place of grounding calm in times of uncertainty, Marle’s Winter ’22 collection, named ‘The River Answer’, is filled with the knits of your dreams.

Creative Director Juliet Souter looked to serene hues, empowering silhouettes and signature pieces, saying “I’ve been called to blue tones so much lately and this collection felt right to bring that to the forefront. Blue brings a feeling of serenity — and that’s something we’re all going to need for some time to come”.

As always, longevity and timelessness are at the heart of the collection — the New Zealand family-run brand only creates four collections a year, crafted from earth-friendly natural fibres. Shop the collection here.

Sydney-based resort-wear label COMMAS is all about purposeful pauses and learning to take pleasure in the moment. Their Autumn/Winter CASA FLOTANTE (The Floating House) collection offers refined comfort and artisal craftsmanship through the lens of idyllic holidays gone by. Printed silk sets offer a touch of luxury alongside dreamy linen suits and sheer woven rope shorts and shirts.

“The collection takes notes from daydreams of past holidays spent sailing around the Islands of Spain — the colours, architecture, food, and energy. I wanted to create my ideal holiday wardrobe, filled with artisanal garments that have a completely sun-drenched feel,” explained COMMAS Founder and Creative Director Richard Jarman.

Established in Australia in 2021 by the eponymous designer, KATE FORD describes itself as a brand for the “big dreamers and beautiful darers”.

‘Sentinel Soul’ is the label’s ’22 Pre-Fall Collection, and it stands, like the sentinels of old, as a guide to true expression. Inspired by the world-renowned theatre district of Paris — a place of romantics and intellectuals — the collection offers dreamy maxi dresses crafted from refined fabrications and darling vintage floral prints.

New Zealand label Maggie Marilyn’s Somewhere collection is all about creating “circular, traceable, evergreen essentials”. Made from organic cottons and linens, as well as ethically farmed merino and regenerated nylon, the collection is filled with everyday pieces with a true luxurious quality to them — clean lines, thoughtful silhouettes and style you’ll reach for again and again.

The latest additions to the Somewhere range include ’90s-style baby tees, cropped sports sweaters, and cosy track pants that are still chic enough to wear out of the house.

Sydney-born womenswear label SOTTO has just released pre-orders on its winter capsule collection. Further branching out from its 2019 origins as a brand offering ‘minimal-with-a-twist’ lingerie, co-founders Lauren Mariani and Pamela Katakouzinos are aiming to offer seasonal edits of classic staples designed to be mixed, matched, and loved forever.

“Like so many millennial women, we have often found ourselves staring at our wardrobes in the morning, wishing there was a simple formula for pulling together a great outfit that would see us through from morning to night. SOTTO’s design ethos is centred around elevated simplicity because we feel that’s the best way to serve us day-to-day,” says Katakouzinos.

The winter capsule is SOTTO’s third venture into apparel, showcasing a refined and mature design approach featuring tailored suiting in timeless neutral hues, wool-blend fabrications for the price-conscious shopper, and more sexy-yet-wearable pieces. Shop SOTTO at their website or on THE ICONIC.

Luxury towel brand BAINA, which harks from Australia and is founded by New Zealanders Anna Fahey and Bailey Meredith, has just released their limited edition collaboration with organic Australian skincare brand LESSE.

The BAINA x LESSE Bethell Bath Towel reimagines BAINA’s 100 per cent Organic Cotton Bethell Bath Towel in LESSE’s signature coastal colourway of mist and salt. Designed to inspire and accompany daily self-care rituals, the collaboration “felt like the natural brand alignment given our shared ethos,” according to Fahey. Shop the towel exclusively at BAINA and LESSE.
