It’s something holiday-makers tend to do a lot of – but staff at this five-star hotel were quick to respond, with the act going viral.

A holiday-maker has captured the hilarious moment resort staff swiftly removed towels from sunbeds after tourists tried to reserve the best lounges.

Amanda Proctor was staying at Gran Costa Adeje hotel in Tenerife, one of Spain’s Canary Islands, when she spotted the funny moment.

She was quick to whip out her phone and share the footage to TikTok, where it has amassed 2.6 million views since it was uploaded just four days ago.

“The sign says no saving sun beds before 10am,” she wrote on the clip which showed staff and security removing yellow towels, inflatables and bags.

The three men were seen picking up the hotel’s towels, with one man seen carrying more than 10 over his shoulder.

About 12 sunbeds had been reserved prompting staff to act quickly. After all, rules are rules.

Amanda said it was “absolutely hilarious” to watch people come back to their towel and belongings gone.

“Some never came back until mid afternoon,” she said in the comments section.

“They took their bags, towels and everything left a note on the sun lounger where to collect.”

Thousands also weighed in with some asking if she filmed hotel guests’ reactions once they returned to their reserved beds.

“It’s a 5 star ️hotel and they wasn’t standing for it … wish I filmed the returning of the people,” Amanda said.

One man appeared to run over to ask them to leave his towel there while they were being removed.

Most viewers agreed it was wrong to reserve sun loungers.

“I bet every day, it’s a battle at the front desk. So many entitled people in this world. Argh!!” one man wrote.

“Damn right! moraled staff right there!!” another wrote.

Others said hotels, resorts and cruise ships should all enforce the same rule.

“Every hotel should do this!!” one TikTok user demanded.

“Cruises should do this too lol,” wrote another.

“Personal pet peeve …. parents ‘reserve’ a chair for each and every child. The kids don’t spend nearly enough time on the chairs,” a third person wrote.

One person who claimed to have previously worked at the hotel said they take away towels that have been there longer than one hour without anybody actually laying there.

Others commented on the video saying they have visited hotels where they have used different tactics to avoid tourists reserving sun loungers for hours by putting their towels down.

”I go to a hotel that reserves your beds for your entire stay against your room. No rush to get down, they’re yours for your entire stay. Best idea ever,” one person wrote.

It’s something only dreams are made of, and if you’re lucky enough to board this ultra luxe cruise ship, you’re in for a massive treat.
